Working Group Study Molecular Biosciences

The spectrum of study opportunities in Germany is currently in a phase of upheaval. On the one hand, the conversion of traditional diploma programs into bachelor's/master's programs requires restructuring and, in some cases, a redesign of content. On the other hand, in the course of these shorter courses of study, a focus on content is becoming possible, which is leading to more and more new developments and new names. The Working Group "Studies in Molecular Biosciences" sees itself as a forum within the GBM in which the organization, teaching content and examination procedures of corresponding study programs in Germany are discussed and further developed. In addition to statements on questions of study design (see below), an important goal of the working group is to provide interested colleagues, students and also pupils with an overview of the specific characteristics of the individual study programs and thus to contribute to decisions about the place of study when starting or changing a study program. To achieve this goal, an overview of the study programs in Molecular Biosciences is created and maintained by the spokesperson. Currently there are 41 universities at 37 locations in Germany offering independent study programs in the field of molecular biosciences (47 bachelor and 51 master programs as well as 1 diploma program).
