Abstract:
Glycosylation is a key modulator of protein function and essential to life. Yet, the non-templated nature of glycan biosynthesis renders protein glycosylation refractory to common techniques of modern quantitative biology. We develop chemical precision tools to understand the glycan biosynthetic machinery in cells and to help turning the enigma of glycosylation into scientific mainstream.
