Dr. Stephanie de Alcântara Fernandes completed her PhD at the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing (MPI-AGE) in the Demetriades Lab, where she remained as a postdoctoral researcher. In 2025, she established her independent research group in muscle metabolism and ageing, as a Minerva Fast Track Group Leader. Her research focuses on how mTORC1 signalling is coordinated across different skeletal muscle cell types and how it changes with age. In an extended Q&A session after the talk, she will be happy to answer all of your questions.
