FEBS – Federation of European Biochemical Societies

Europäische Vernetzung der Biochemie und Molekularbiologie

The GBM is a member of FEBS, the European Federation of Biochemical Societies. Through FEBS, the GBM is closely integrated into an international network and provides its members with access to funding programs, conferences, courses, and scientific exchange at the European level.

What is the FEBS?

The Federation of European Biochemical Societies (FEBS) brings together national biochemical societies from across Europe. FEBS aims to promote excellence in research, high-quality education, and international exchange in the molecular life sciences. Its core activities include scientific conferences, continuing education programs, and extensive funding initiatives—particularly for early-career researchers.

The GBM and the FEBS

The GBM is one of 35 member societies of FEBS and plays an active role in its structures. Through this membership, the GBM represents the interests of the German biochemistry community at the European level and helps shape scientific programs and funding initiatives.
GBM members serve on FEBS bodies, committees, and working groups and contribute to the further development of the European Research Area.
