Studiengruppe Rezeptoren und Signaltransduktion
The study group “Receptors and Signal Transduction“ was founded in 2000. Our aim is to support and synergize research in the area of signal transduction in all its variety. Since 2018, the elected speaker team includes Antje Ebert, Thorsten Müller, and Karlheinz Friedrich. The speaker team advocates versatile exchange and interactions within the study group as well as the promotion of junior scientists.
The GBM conferences, symposia, and the annual „Joint Meeting on Signal Transduction“ by the STS are highlights for the members of our study group. At these meetings, we regularly organize workshops and sessions, allowing study group members to advance their science, develop new contacts and diversity their networks. These events, aside spotlighting keynote lectures by established scientists in the field, enable participants to present their research as short talks or posters selected from submitted abstracts. This intensifies exchange and visibility of scientists in the field of signal transduction. Especially junior scientists profit from presenting their work to a wider audience within the scientific community. Moreover, we are involved regularly in the junior scientist meeting “Young Scientists meet Experience” organized by the Study Group “Biochemical Pharmacology and Toxicology”, which features exclusively contributions from junior scientists. In July 2023, we organize for the first time a joined study group meeting with the Study Group “Biochemical Pharmacology and Toxicology”, the Research School “New Horizons in Signal Transduction” at the Goettingen University Medical Center. This symposium will further strengthen and grow the long-standing collaborations of our study groups. We welcome ideas and contributions from our study group members to shape these activities.
